1. Data controller

We process your personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Slovak Act No. 18/2018 Coll. on Personal Data Protection.

2. What data we process and why

We process personal data only when you voluntarily provide it through forms on our website:

• Contact form — name, email, phone number and message. Purpose: to respond to your enquiry.
• Wine enquiry/order — name, email, phone number, wine selection and notes. Purpose: to prepare a tailored quotation and contact you.
• Tasting registration — name, email, phone number, number of guests and selection. Purpose: to organise and confirm the tasting.

Vine Maze game (leaderboard)

The game works without login or e-mail. After your first completed round you get a random code and a nickname that you can change. We only store the code, the nickname and the round results (number of rounds, highest level, time of the last round). The code is used only to continue playing and to verify a win in the contest. The nickname is shown on the leaderboard, so please do not use your real name. We delete game data on request: just send your code to winery@emmawinery.sk.

Legal basis

Processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps taken at your request before entering into a contract) and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (our legitimate interest in responding to and communicating about your enquiry).

Retention period

We retain your data only for as long as necessary to handle your enquiry, or until the purpose of processing ceases or any applicable consent is withdrawn.

Recipients of Personal Data

We do not share your data with third parties for advertising purposes. Messages from the forms are processed on servers in the EU and delivered by e-mail through the mail server of our hosting provider (HostCreators, Slovakia), which acts as a processor. We do not transfer data outside the EU.

3. Cookies

This website uses only essential cookies and local storage necessary for its operation:

• Age verification (18+) — remembers that you confirmed your age for the duration of the session.
• Cookie acknowledgement — remembers that you have seen the cookie notice.
• Player code (Vine Maze game) — your code is saved in the browser’s local storage under the name emma_game_code so that you can continue playing.
• The Google Maps embed on the Contact page may set Google’s own cookies.

We do not use advertising or analytics tracking cookies. You can delete cookies at any time in your browser settings.

4. Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, restrict processing, object to processing and request data portability. To exercise these rights, email winery@emmawinery.sk. You may also lodge a complaint with the Slovak Data Protection Authority (dataprotection.gov.sk).
